The brillant and charming little book Zoo Let Out Night begins...

If you were an animal in the zoo,
And watched by people all day,
I bet you'd want to visit them too,
And see where they work and play.

About the Author

Edith Downes Saur "co-invented" Zoo Let Out Night when she overheard her daughter Emmy imagining the story aloud, to the enchantment of Emmy's two-year-old sister. Edith simply wrote it down, and over the years it became the favorite bedtime story of her beloved audience of six children and seventeen grandchildren.

Edith has made an entertaining hobby of creating original poems and stories. This is always a delight to spellbound family members. Boma, as she is known among her grandchildren, thought that it was about time to share her nocturnally liberated animals with a wider audience. Her grandchildren think it's pretty cool that she is now a published author.

About the Illustrator

Liza Behles is originally from Winnetka, Illinois, just outside Chicago. She is currently a senior at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Liza is majoring in fine arts, with a concentration in printmaking.

This is Liza's first book illustration, but she is looking forward to illustrating more books.

Foreword

Zoo Let Out Night, by Edith Downes Saur and illustrated by Liza Behles, is absolutely brilliant. Kids of all ages will have barrels of fun as they travel through the Zoo and see their favorite animals in "zooperistic" fashion.

The "anthropomorphic" behaviors exhibited by each and every animal stimulates every kid's imagination. Young and old alike will have a great time making these zoo creatures come to life.

Zoo Let Out Night is a must for every family!
