About the Author
Margaret Brownell Lorenzen lives with her husband in a beautiful log home, surrounded by nearly a hundred Norway spruce trees, in upstate New York. Margaret enjoys telling about how six hundred trees once surrounded her home from the two thousand seedlings originally planted. She laughs when she says that for many years some people didn't even know there was a house there. The lot now has fewer trees but many more places for Margaret's lovely gardens. Friends and family are able to share her beautiful flowers with her because she often brings bouquets of fresh garden flowers when she comes to visit.

Margaret has had many interests over the years and is a retired nurse and retired activities director. When she was activities director she published educational materials. At one time she ran a unique bed and breakfast in her log home and had guests from all over the world. She still hears from some of those guests.

Her current interests include genealogy, and her family is anxiously waiting for Margaret to write the family history. She loves to sail on nearby Cayuga Lake and she and her husband enjoy ballroom and square dancing.

There are many people of all ages who call Margaret Brownell Lorenzen a friend and who are delighted that she has written Slinky Slithertail.

She has three grown children and eight grandchildren and loves tending her family and her beautiful garden. Slinky Slithertail is her first children's book.
