Mysterious
things happen in our world
all the time-
in the secret
places between our dreams
and our minds.
There is a
town where mysterious
things
happen rather
frequently, a town between
here and thereÉ.

Foreword

I wish Dad were here!
With that thought for the return of
her father begins young Molly Parker's adventureÑone that she
could never have imagined in her wildest dreams.
In the Realm of Timeless Wisdom, Molly
befriends creatures from humanity's mythic past: Centaurs, nymphs,
giants, Father Time, Medusa, and others all play important roles
in Molly's adventureÑeven the frightening robed figure of Death!
All she really wants is to have her father back, but in order
to attempt the impossible, she must make a bargain. When she
does, she has no idea of the challenges that await herÑand the
chain of events that will be set into motion....
Will Molly and her amazing companions
save the Realm? Can Molly really bring back her father? Are
her adventures merely dreams? What is the power of the crystal
sphere? And who is the mysterious girl with the red mittens?
In The Dreamer, this first in
a trilogy of adventures, Matthew G. McMillan has created a world
that is sure to thrill readers of all agesÑa world filled with
wonders and perils, in the tradition of the great fantasy novels.

-ÒMatthew G. McMillan has created
a pleasant, imaginative Fantasy tale - the first of a trilogy.
It raises questions some have about dreams, death, other realms,
and provides a chance to journey and experience possibilities.
The characters are interesting and fun and the backdrop magical.
It's an easy read and appropriate for most children. Sensitive
issues are brought up and there is some violence. This story
will also appeal to adults who enjoy Fantasy, although they may
find a few are as slow moving.
I recommend The Dreamer (book one) and give it a 4
out of a 5.Ó

-"McMillan
has woven a story that has multigenerational appeal. On the
surface, The Dreamer
is a fast-paced adventure starring a spunky heroine, with whom
any young person may identify. More experienced readers will
find intimations and thought-provoking ideas that address some
universal questions. All readers [will be] left with one burning
question: When can we read Book Two?!"
- Gail Park, Librarian
"Éa
creative book! The story will make you think about what your
dreams actually mean. The characters were brave, funny, and
unique. The Dreamer
has an original plot and an unexpected ending. Once you start
this book, you won't be able to put it down!"
- Whitney
Nicoson
"A
one-of-a-kind read! Just the thing young adults are looking
for in a book. The
Dreamer is spiritually uplifting, and contains all the
action that a great book should have. All this, combined with
an unforgettable ending that leaves your pulse racing, makes
The Dreamer one of the best books out there!"
