It’s Petunia’s eighth birthday, and Farmer John and his wife have arranged a party for their granddaughter. She is given many splendid presents – a patch-pocketed pinafore, and to put in its pockets, a toy baby bunny, a doll, a yo-yo, a gold bracelet… Only one thing is missing: her shiny, gold, heart-shaped locket on a long gold chain, which she had lost by the pond the day before when watching the animals’ talent show. Roxie the Raccoon has the necklace, but how can she give Petunia her treasure back when Hector, the big brown dog, is barring her way?
